Natural Selection and Evolution
Natural Selection is a process that involves random changes in an organisms DNA, these changes get passed onto offspring if they are useful in the environment in which an organism inhabits. Small changes in DNA that occur will often produce mutations that make an individual more successful in reproducing and therefore will pass on the desirable mutated genes to the next generation. If the mutation remains positive the environment will continue to select organisms to be successful and continue to pass on these inherited traits. Speciation, or the process of new species being created occur when mutation continue to change organisms until they are no longer able to reproduce and create viable offspring.
